Below you will find important camp information, as well as a list of Frequently Asked Questions. We hope this will help your camper prepare for their stay at GYC; if you have further questions, feel free to contact us at: registration@greenbrieryouthcamp.com.
How to get to camp?
Camp Address: 325 Youth Camp Rd, Frankford, WV 24938.
From I-64, Lewisburg Exit 169:
-Take Rt. 219 N. from Lewisburg, approximately 10 miles.
-Turn right onto Anthony Creek Road (which is before General Dollar Store) as you enter the town of Frankford. From Rt. 219
-It is 5 miles to the camp. Stay on the main road and descend down to the Greenbrier River.
-You will eventually come to a bridge across the Greenbrier River.
-Proceed 1 mile and you will see the Greenbrier County Youth Camp entrance sign on the left.
Arrival and Drop-off instructions:
Arrival Time:
Drop-off will be from 3:00-4:00 pm on Sunday July 23rd ; the first activity for campers will begin at 4:30 pm and dinner will be served at 6:00 pm.
Parking:
Be sure to park only in designated parking lot upon arrival to camp. Please leave all luggage and personal belongings in your vehicle until registration is complete. Registration will be held in McVey Hall (assembly building), directly across from parking lot. After your camper has been given their cabin assignment and registration is complete, you may take all luggage and belongings to designated cabin.
Pick-Up Instructions:
Pick-up will begin at 6:00 pm on Thursday July 27th at the council circle. Parents and campers will gather at that time to celebrate the end of camp with one final bonfire; campers will be dismissed from the council circle.
Packing List:
-Tennis shoes, Water/River shoes, socks (close-toed shoes are required for certain activities)
- Several changes of comfortable clothing *weather appropriate*
- Undergarments
-Jacket or sweatshirt for evenings
-Swimming apparel and swim towel
-Bed Sheet, Sleeping Bag, Pillow. (Most campers use a fitted twin sheet over the bunk mattress, then use their sleeping bag on top of that.)
-Soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush and comb
-Flash Light
-Bug Spray
-Sun Screen
-Medication must be in original bottle with name and instructions. All meds, including over-the-counter, must be given to camp nurse at registration. (No meds will be accepted in any container other than the original prescription bottle.
What not to bring:
-Coolers
-Energy Drinks
-Large Luggage (any and all luggage must fit beneath your bed)
-We highly recommend that you do not bring a cell phone to camp.
-FYI: Cell phone signal/service at the camp location is not strong enough for calls or texts.
-You are responsible for any valuable you choose to bring with you to camp, (iPod, jewelry, cameras, money, etc.)
No Photos are to be taken inside of the cabins for reasons of personal privacy

Is there a camp store?
Yes, there is a camp store available each evening (one snack per camper), however money is not required. These special treats are already paid for by Donations of the Greenbrier River Fly Fishing Tournament Foundation.
Where will I sleep? You will be in a cabin with up to 14 other campers and at least 2 adult counselors. Each person will have his/her own bed. Cabin assignment will be made according to age/grade level (or special needs accommodations). Please see map above for cabin locations and descriptions.
