Manager's Update

August 2011, It has taken a while to get our site back up and operating properly.
We started off June with the two Greenbrier County 4-H camps. They again this year were a lot of fun. The Older camp started the last day of school. Thank you snow days. and the younger camp started on the week-end, thank you snow days. Everyone did manage to have a great time, we finished with a gig HOW HOW. Cant wait till 2012.

Community Missionary Baptist Church rolled into town, loaded for bear, Sean and crew were ready for a week of fun and fellowship. I do believe the had both. These people know how to have a good time enjoying the wild and wonderful things West Virginia has to offer. They too will be back in 2012 better than ever.

Camp Kno-Koma was with us again in 2011. Staff and campers are such great people. I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know them over the last two years. They never say can't and put so much effort into making their camp a quality experience for the campers. The campers are so much fun to be around (staff too), I will remember some of the folks all year. They make a lasting impression.

Several Family reunions and pool parties have been on the schedule also. We are glad to have these groups with us.

Dr. McClung and crew used the camp pool to help with scuba diving classes, they helped us confirm and identify our pool drains. The drains are correct and comply with the Virginia Graham Backer Act.

Greenbrier East Band held their camp and like all band camps they spent a lot of time on the field. Friday nights show was good. I hope they are able to go to Hawaii in November. They will represent West Virginia well.

Lord Botetorte as usual were a hoot. Chris and his crew always have something new and exciting going on. I now know more than I ever thought I would about Jeeps and know where the best junkyard in the area is located. The band did an excellent job too.
Thank You for a very good week.

William Byrd Band is always a great addition to the August Band Camp month. A few new faces in the adult section as well as in the band. I thank all of you for using the pool as much as you did during your free time. It needs to be used more. I know you must have enjoyed the cool water after the time you spent on the field. Mr Plybon, believes in getting the field positions perfect. I can't wait to see your show.  Keepup the good work

We have had trouble downloading pictures all summer due to internet speed.
I hope we will have resolved this spring. We had a great time with Camp Kno Koma, Salem Band, University of Cincinnati, Virginia Military Institute, during their stay at the camp.

We have several new and exciting groups that will be with us in 2011, I for one can't wait for the new season to start. It is only 6 months away. That sounds like a long time but believe me it is not. Time goes so fast by the older I get.

We hope everyone has a great Holiday Season, be safe, see you in 2012
